These just arrived!
Dan Burke - Queen Wharncliff Whittler in Winterbottom with Sandvick 12C27
3 1/4"
A very beautiful knife that I am very pleased with.
Very beautiful lines, and the bone accents the shape of the bolsters
Very thin on a single spring
A sharp Wharncliff blade, feel just right when I hold the knife
It is actually a fancy pen knife for its shape and size, it will just disappear into my pocket, (sorry Case Pen knife!)
Schatt & Morgan Half Whittler #16 Series in Bradford Jigged Green Bone with 420 HC 3 1/2"
S&M call it a Serpentine Moose on their catalog, but a Half Whittler on the box.
This is my first S&M. A winner for me.
The confusion in the name actually gives me what I want, a good sized turkish clip blade of a moose and a small coping blade of a whittler.
Very well made, the coping blade sticks a little, but I will loosen that up with use.
The bone is very special, it is brown jigging on a greenish background, and I do not have many different bone bolsters.
The single spring make for a slimmer knife.
GEC Tidioute #25 Jack with Sheepsfoot main blade in Northern Lights Acrylic with 1095 carbon
Ok this is my first GEC...
I took a big risk and ordered acrylic
Who ever did this acrylic has seen the Northern Lights. (last time I saw them was in Vermont)
The colors are amazing, it catches the light and is translucent like old bone.
This shifts a trad slippy in to something quite modern looking, very interesting indeed.
The knife itself is excellent.
Bill picked me a non-nail breaker.
Excellent quality, F&F very good indeed, nice strong snap, clean 1/2 stops which I like, the blade is not going anywhere!
I have no feeling of the 3" being little, I have a handful to hold on to.
Three quite different special occasion knives.
The Burke has a lot of design in it, small enough for fancy occasions.
The S&M has very simple clean lines to it, with clip opened, and lovely bone.
The Tidioute is a bad boy, classy and flashy
Very pleased with these three knives
