Just wanted to wish all the Folksy Dads here a Happy Fathers Day...

I know when my son Travis was born 13 years ago, it changed my life.
I will never forget giving him his first bath at the hospital. At that moment, all the material things I owned, became very insignificant.

I have been very lucky, he is a great kid. Watching him learn and grow, is something that is priceless. Unfortunately as you all know, they grow up way to fast. I have tried hard to steer him in the right direction in life, and instill strong morals and respect. I think it has paid off, because he is doing good in school and never gets in trouble.
He likes to hunt, fish, camp, and fly his remote control planes, which we do together. PLUS, he does love the slip joints :D...

He never went through the baggy pants phase either. He lives in his cowboy boots and hat when he can. All of this makes Dad very happy and proud.

If'n any of you happened to get new slipjoints for Fathers Day, feel free to post a pic...

Right back at you. This is my first Father's Day and it's been a great one. I have a wonderful wife, a healthy daughter, and the means to provide for them. What else does a man need?

Happy Father's Day Folksy Dads! There's nothing like it in the world. I'm a father 4 times. Two girls, two boys. I read it costs about $160,140.00 to raise a child to age 18. Now add in college and .....

That's allott of knives guys!

I wouldn't trade it for anything. :)

Let me also congratulate all you proud Dads out there, and wish you a wonderful day!!
3 kids, and three grand kids later, I'd give up all my knives for them in a heartbeat!

Happy Dad's Day to everyone here as well!. :D ;) :)

And to everyone of you fellows that will-soon-to-be-fathers too.. :) And to the rest of you all that are fix'n to be planning to be fathers PDQ as well!.

Bless You All!. The very :cool:est thing you'll every be a part of to be sure!!

Anthony

It is great being a dad, isn't it?

I have three kids. A 17 year old daughter, 13 year old son and 9 year old daughter. The 17 year old is learning how to drive. So after going out for a cajun lunch, we went to a county park nearby and drove around and worked on parking and other things. Forgot she was in drive attempting to pull out and almost hit a tree in front of us!

The rest of the driving around went better. She's making brownies for her dad right now.

I might go fishing a nearby creek this afternoon. It about 92F and sunny at the moment so it should feel pretty good wading in the cool stream water.

Happy Father's Day!

I am a father 6x. Our blended family has allowed me to be a father to children, who for awhile did not know why their real dad left them. Their real dad heard that I was gonna adopt them, and he came back from across the country. I kept telling my step kids, pray and your real dad will come back. I remind them how God answers prayers, for real. They truly believe it now.

Great thread. Happy Fathers Day to everyone & myself. I didn't get a knife today, but I did give my youngest (9 yr old girl) an '04 Case OC Choppers mini-Trapper in tin (Orange & black bone, I think). She loved it & added it to her Case tiny-Trapper & Seahorse Whittler (Both in orange G-10).

I carried my David Steier Interframe today when we went out for breakfast & she asked me if I could give it to her, lol. I politely told her no, but she'll probably get it one day.

I agree, they sure do grow fast, but you'll do anything for them.

Happy Fathers Day dads. Went on a jog today with my daughter, and had a good day just hangin out.

It was Fight'n Roosters for Father's Day here...the three below went to the three men carry the family name. I gifted the red to Dad (gave him his choice of the three), the black and silver went to my brother who is a 3 time Dad, and the blue aggie stayed with me...a one time Dad. On all three on the main blade are the words..."Family First".

I have a son and a daughter and am most grateful to be able to say that.
My son broke his neck last August and lived to tell the tale. And he Walks, Runs, Swims and surfs.
I am a grateful Dad.

No doubt about it. Life would feel very empty without them

Very fitting knives. I'm sure your dad was very happy

I'm glad to hear your son is o.k... I can't imagine having that happen to one of your kids

My gang treated me really well today. I thanked my family for the special treatment, but told them that the best part was being able to be their father. They are an amazing bunch of kids.

I had the joy of driving to my 77 year old fathers house early this morning with my 18 year old son in tow. I then took him out to go to the local donut shop to get a "chocolate eclair". You see since I was knee high (about 40 years ago) my father always would load up his kids and take us out to the donut shop on Saturday to get a freshly made eclair donut and we would relish the sweet goodness of the donut and bask in the safety and security of his presence.

Happy Fathers Day!!

Fathers day wishes to those with fathers and those who are fathers.

My Old Man always said, "Fathers Day is just another excuse to kick back, relax and enjoy your family, I'll take any excuse for that."

Absintheur,

What a cool tradition. Gives me ideas for next year.

My Northwoods Gunstock was a gift to myself for fathers day, although My five year old helped me pick it out. My Three-year old also went with me to the Spyderco Outlet on Saturday for a Non-traditional blade day.
