Well I hope all the fathers out there had a great Father's Day, I know I did!

Some of you may remember my recent thread about being kind of new to (nice) knives and what kind of EDC knife I should look into. Some of the blades I was really considering were a ZT0350, a Buck Vantage Force Pro, or a BF Skyline. There were a lot of great suggestions in that thread that helped me narrow it down. I got a great deal on the Buck so I snatched it up. But I still really wanted that ZT. So I started dropping hints to my wife and kids about what a great gift it would be for Father's Day.

Well they didn't end up getting me the ZT0350....they accidentally got me the ZT0560 instead!!! WHAT WHAT!!! That has to be the best mistake that has ever happened to me. I would have never asked for a $275 knife for Father's Day, so you can imagine the look on my face when they gave it to me. It was a look of disbelief, so much so, that my wife thought that I didn't like it, YEAH RIGHT! What a great surprise. Much thanks to the wife and kiddos!

I freakin love this knife! As good as the 0350 feels, the 0560 feels even better. It's just such a well built and sturdy blade. I can't get over how nice the F&F is and how solid it feels. So, now I am the very proud owner of my first high end folder and my first ZT and I couldn't be happier.

The only problem is, now I feel like I'm developing a problem if you know what I mean. I'm already looking at getting a Spyderco PM2 and I still might add that BF Skyline to the mix. This could be bad.

Did anybody else get a nice blade for Father's Day? Feel free to share your story and pics.
 
thats a hell of a mistake congrats:thumbup: i have only held and flipped it a few times. i really need to get one soon.

Definitely in my favor for sure. I'm enjoying it immensely! I bet I've flipped this thing 300 times since yesterday afternoon.

So I found out how it happened. My wife accidentally erased the picture of the 0350 I texted her. So when she went to buy it she didn't have a clue. Lucky for me my son remembered Zero Tolerance. My wife asked the salesman for a Zero Tolerance knife , not knowing it was a brand and not a knife model.

I had already prepped the saleman that my wife might be coming in to get the 0350, so either the salesman forgot which one I was looking at or was just gonna make the bigger sale, either way I ended up with the 0560.
 
The knife is so hard to get a hold of I'm surprised they accidentally got you that one. Either way congrats, I've owned a lot of nice knives in the past and the 0561 I have now is by far my favorite and will be pretty hard to top. Enjoy!

You wouldn't know it by shopping at my local store. They have several in stock. They have a extremely large assortment from nearly every major manufacturer and a lot of nice customs also. The salesman told me they have a million in knife inventory and I believe it. It really is a joy to go and hang out there. That store is definitely contributing to my knife "problem".
 
Anytime I tell someone yea a new knife would be a great gift the opposite usually happens. I have "expensive taste" or just a demand for quality as I say I usually get down graded. Not that the ZT0350 is bad, I love that little knife but I ZT560 is even better! Did you tell your wife? If you didn't I guess you are clear but if you did you better remember that when the next mother's day or her birthday comes around hahah! Not hard to take you lucky dog! Congrats!!!

Yeah she knows she accidentally upgraded me. No biggie though, I really impressed her for Mother's Day already this year.
 
Congratulations on recieving one of the most sought after production folders ever. This IMO is the all end all flipper.

Wow, I knew it was a nice knife but I didn't know it was that popular. That makes it even more special. I have been flipping this knife open so much I've damn near rubbed a blister on my index finger.
 
I'm so full of envy right now. She's a keeper for sure. Both the knife and the wife. This will definitely be my next high-end production folder purchase if I could find one when I have the cash in hand. Congrats!
 
You have a great wife and family. The knife is amazing, but not that difficult to find as others have mentioned. Just found a 561 recently myself on here from a nice forum member. I have seen a bunch on BF's in fact. You can get them on fleabay too; at a premium of course. Anyway-Gratz on the blade!!
