Just wanted to wish all you Dads here a happy fathers day.
I am spending most of mine with a draw knife and a hot rodded Stanley 151. Nice long curles with no tear out today.
The kids should be bringing Dad some refreshments later on. And no honey does either.

Thanks for the Father's Day wishes and back at you!

How did you hot rod the 151 and was yours made in England?

Yes, an upscale blade and rebedded. Not made in England just an old one. Its a Hoch blade and despite what you may read about it going into a 151 mine did not and I had to file the opening in the toe wider. I made the switch a long time ago and maybe the Hock blades were thicker back then, I don't no. After that I find that I prefer it bevel up most of the time anyway. It may not be right but its the way I like it. I have never regretted getting the Hoch blade. I got to play a little with an old wooden body today also. I like it pretty well, for some reason a lot better than a wooden Conover that I have, I guess adjustment knobs are overrated.
