Happy Father's Day to all of the Forumites that have the good forutune to be Dads.

On this day, one must remember all of the GOOD things their children bring to them.

Enjoy the fruits of your responsibility regardless of how many or where they came from, the future lies with the children.

...Thanks Sal and may I echo your Fathers' Day wish to all fathers here.

The older I get, the more I appreciate the idea that our real and most important legacy is our children. It's best to discover that as early as possible. In the rush of day to day life, we somtimes become focused on things that seem so important but really fade to nothingness if we are forced to stop and think. Hobbies and interests are wonderful pastimes but there is nothing so dear as your children.

One of my most appreciated blessings is living long enough to share my interests with my son, now 20 years old. The joy of sharing itself exceeds the pleasure I personally get from knives, guns, hunting and working outside around our property.

Sal, your post just made me stop and think about this.

Thanks

My two are daughters, 17 and 20.
There's not much that compares to the love shared between fathers and daughters.
They often drive me nuts. They are indeed "female", and they show me affection that is truly unique.
I am so fortunate to have my own father alive and well. He has taught me so much. I work daily to continue his values.
I'll spend time with him today also.
To all other fathers out there...this is your special day. Enjoy it.

I have a young daughter (4 yrs old) and enjoy all the time I get to spend with her. She also gave me a great gift for Fathers Day a Spyderwrench. She brings great joy to my life (and not only in the form of knives)
