When my oldest niece had her son in 2006, I bought a 110 the next day, so he would have one with his birth year on it, and gave it to him last Christmas.
When my youngest niece had her son in 2017, I did the same thing, so it's waiting for when he's old enough.
My dilemma, was that she's got a 13 year old step-son, born in 2005, that is a knife collector already.
Rearranging some knives in storage this morning, I found a new, never used 110 with the 2005 "State of Idaho" date code, in a box.
From now on, I may just start buying a new 110 off the shelf every year, "just in case"
