I don't know about those particular belts, but generally, doubling the grit between steps is a good way to go.
 
You may find the super fine conditioning belt eliminates the need for 1000 or 1200 grit belts. At that grit those belts won’t last long and your getting close to a mirror polish if buffed. The superfine belt I have would be a step back. Your results may vary
