To all who have, do, and will serve.

Thank You.

Dont have a whole lot planned for the w/e. The traffic around here is a madhouse with the influx of the tourists. I guess we'll mostly be packing things up for our eventual move to Gods country.

What ya'll up to ?

Mark

I will be taking five days off from the day job and getting a few knives finished up. Then hammer drawing a pattern weld billet until my shoulder says stop.

While doing that I will also spend some time remembering both my grandfathers and all the others who have served in current or past wars. Freedom is not free and sometimes it takes violence to obtain peace.

To all of you in the armed forces, active or retired, thanks for your service!!!!

We are having "Speed Street" and the NASCAR race this weekend. I work in one of the buildings adjacent to the festival and live north of town in the direction where the speedway is. Bad traffic here too.

I'll probably take my older kids and some friends back here to see the cars and get freebies from the sponsors. Other than that, just some chores unless my tongs arrive - then there will be some forging going on for certain.

Hope everyone flies the flag in honor of our heroes and gives thanks for them.

Thank you to those that have served this country!

I'll probably be cutting grass Saturday and Sunday, and taking a drive Monday. To where? I don't know.

Going to cool it this weekend. Throw some stuff on the grill, drink a beer or two, and remember some friends whose names are on The Wall.

Thanks to all who served. My Flag will be Flying.

As far as knives I probably won't be doing much this weekend...My oldest Daughter is getting married Sunday. My time will be spent elsewhere.
You guys have fun whatever you do.....I will.

Larry

Amen to thanking those who have served. Our hearts go out to all those for whom this weekend is a time of deep sadness over those loved ones they have lost to serving America...... :(

Mine will be the only flag flying on my block. A block away there will be a vet that flies the Stars & Stripes, the Marine flag, and an MIA flag, just as he does every day. The rest of the people hereabouts won't care squat because few are citizens and America is no more to them than a place to make money. I won't be surprised at all if there aren't a few Mexican flags flown just as a poke at the USA, laughing at us and our welcoming nature.

Yes, it's a good time to remember that even though we party this weekend, this is still a time of solemn remembrance of why America is what it is, paid for dearly with the blood of sons and daughters.......

Remember them this weekend, and give "Thanks".

I'm going to actually take a break...Mostly out of necessity. I just finished a Nesmuck and I am working on an ultra light, double bit, hunting hatchet.
Do a little grilling and try to let the Vets know I care.

That's hard sometimes because I don't support this war but support every single person sent to fight it. I have plenty of practice though. This is my second war I don't support. I just had the privilege of being included in the first one.

I hope all of you have an enjoyable and safe Memorial day!

i will be thanking my brothers past and present and having a beer with those that have given all they had
and the forge shall get hot on sunday and maybe monday
i think i should do something nice might have time to give to make something for spark to help out the funds drive

I'll be toasting all our veterans that have served, past and present tonight at a 50th surprise party for a friend. Tomorrow, I'll be toasting the vets again at a cookout at IG's house. Sunday I'll be toasting once more (this time with soda pop) at my niece's sweet 16 birthday. Monday, I'll be painting the interior of the house with my lovely wife.

All and all, a lot of toasting. :D

Just bought a new grill today, so there will be lots of tasty food this weekend for sure! I'd like to get a little knife work done this weekend just for fun. Sunday I may meet up with Butch to laugh at him while he bangs on some steel (and maybe throw a few pointers his way).

Thanks to those who serve and have served our country :)

I have to work tomorrow for sure. Probably get sunday off and monday if I'm not at the regular job I'll probably go bale some hay. Have a welding job and a few tractors to get to still at the fairgrounds too.
There is a knife sitting on the bench that needs some attention. If I'm lucky I'll get to work on it a little bit this weekend.

Have a party for my oldest son Brian today. He is a X Marine and was in the first Gulf War. Got all kinds of Portagee food cooking. Sunday the Habenaros go into the growed.:D :D
