Today is a day to appreciate your knives no matter what kind they are and celebrate one of mans oldest tools, so is anyone carrying anythings special today?

WAFFLES!

Awesome, and I don't have to work today.:)

Happy Knife Day indeed! :D

Is it really knife AND waffle day??? This is truly the best combo holiday ever in the history of man... Period.

Well, coincidentally, me and my pal walked through the park with his kids, cutting pieces off nectarines with our knives and feeding them the kids. All very normal and innocent - but unfortunately we live in the UK Police State. so it's a wonder there weren't SWAT teams abseiling out of helicopters!

Funny, the retailers seem to largely have ignored this one. I'll be honest, there's a good chance I would have bought a ZT 561 if there had been discount codes from any of my favorite retailers, but while a couple manufacturers and BladeHQ did giveaways, I haven't seen much that would promote shopping. Unless I'm missing something. Very strange.

No, I'm not carrying anything special because it's knife day but my Sebenza and Chaparral are very special so, yes I am carrying something special. =]

Sounds like some vicious nectarines

Judging from the fact that I can't find anything on this "National" Knife Day before 2011, I'm going to take a guess and say that this is the second ever "National" Knife Day, which is probably why none of the retailers are doing anything special. The question now is of who started it and why.
