Hey folks! Happy new year!

It's resolution time!

I hereby vow to enter and actually follow through on at least one KITH this year, instead of dropping out like I did this year.

I also resolve to try to not die this year. Not that I'm overly worried about that, and given my 48 year track record of not dying, I feel that I have a good chance of pulling it off.

How about y'all?

I want to try to;
get things done in the right order!
Slow down and reduce mistakes
Make six knives this year is a must, I feel that I have made real progress this year since I joined BF (3).
Make a surface grind attachment
Make another shed
Get forge up and running
Cast some bronze bolsters
Try to incorporate a new process on every knife
Use a new raw material on every knife
by the end of the year make a three blade slipjoint
Have a knife ready to go for the kith instead of being last minute. :)

I am looking forward to reading this next year see how far I get.

Have a great New Year everyone, and may all your wishes come true.

Happy New Year to all!

My 2023 was a bit difficult health-wise. I hope to get sorted and back in the shop sooner than later.
Thank you to all. You help keep my desire to make knives again intact. BF has meant a lot to me for a long time now.
I miss you, IG! F***head, you had to go and die. 🥲

Come on Mike,

I know how you feel, one of my best mates died on Christmas day. He just never woke up.

Show us how to make a Bowie, I am sure your mate would want you to smash it out the park!

Old Indian George passed years ago. Unfortunately, we lost contact, and I haven't gotten over the guilt. He'd definitely appreciate me haranguing him, though. 🤣

He was a memorable and irascible denizen of this place for many years, and I cared a lot about him.

Sorry to hear about losing a best bud. Keep him in your heart.

As for the Bowie, we'll see what the year brings. My wife just pointed out that if I get a new knee, there won't be any basement-shop time for a good while. I'm thinking the living room of the house would look nice with the engraving bench plunked down here. LOL

he sounds like a nice feller, LOL.

And don't worry, I believe that your still in touch. Every time you think of him he laughs and that star twinkles.

*I'm going to make a waterfall platen. I already started.
* one of my knives is going to make the list of everyone's favorite knife of 2024.
* Try upping my marketing, or stickers, or something? Idk, my head swims.
* Get to know more members, and more Makers.
* Going to try Really hard to not get banned this year from BF.

We shall see how well I do.....
