Y'all might remember my post about a mini-Mach 1; well, I finally got the Mach 1 in that I ordered and want a mini more than ever. I just had to brag and reply to some of the posts about EKI's quality control. Perfectly aligned blade, and extremely solid lockup. NO blade play.
Best knife "out of the box" that I've bought--I have Boekers, Spydercos, cold steel, and another emerson (yes, it's even better than my CQC7B). (Lowbrow stuff compared to some of you--but, hey, I'm just a grad student)
I especially like that the scales are "fileworked" to match the liners--excellent gripping surface. The lack of grip is what scared me about most of my other folders. This is a work knife. Good size for self-defense--to those of you asking for larger blades, 3-4" is plenty from my studies of Judo, Aikido and Bujikan Budo Taijitsu.
This one makes me a confirmed Emerson fan; I see my other folders getting lonely.
Now if they would just make that mini Mach1, a custom shop mini, or drop point neck knife the size of the la Griffe or . . . for those grad student moments when you are forced to be PC.
