Traditional Irish Blessing:

May the road rise to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
The rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of his hand.

May God be with you and bless you;
May you see your children's children.
May you be poor in misfortune,
Rich in blessings,
May you know nothing but happiness
From this day forward.

May the road rise to meet you
May the wind be always at your back
May the warm rays of sun fall upon your home
And may the hand of a friend always be near.

May green be the grass you walk on,
May blue be the skies above you,
May pure be the joys that surround you,
May true be the hearts that love you.

Have a Happy (and safely celebrated) St. Paddy's Day:D

May those who love us, love us.
And those that don't love us,
May God turn their hearts.
And if He won't turn their hearts,
May he turn their ankles
So that we will know them by their limping

This is my father-in-law's favorite. Used many a time at the Irish pub;) It's now my favorite as well. It really captures that famed Irish double talk that is so soothing but deadly serious. Remember, Irish diplomacy: The ability to tell a man to go to hell so that he looks forward to the trip;)

"Being Irish, he had an abiding sense of tragedy, which sustained him through temporary periods of joy."

William Butler Yeats

Gotta love Yeats...but I have always rather enjoyed the "Irish Blessing" penned by Johnathan Swift,

"May you live all the days of your life." :D

And how many Irishmen does it take to screw in a lightbulb?

10 !

One to hold the lightbulb and nine to drink until the room spins!
