I havent posted too much lately and just wanted to say hi and well wishes to my knife making buddies.
Many of you guys know that my wife Deb has had some health problems lately and things havent been so great the last couple of weeks.
I had to leave work Fri before last to rush Deb to the emergency room for extreme upper abdominal pain. At first they thought it was galbladder, but it turned out that had a swollen pancreas, pneaumonia and fluid in her abdomin. The Doctors scared the crap out of me when they told me that she would either " live or die ". I was asked if Deb had a living will and was given paperwork to take care of.
I got to spend a week in hell seeing my wife completely out of her mind from the morphine, and having to spend the night with her every night because she would pull out her I.V and catheter and try to find the kitchen to cook.
I did a lot of praying and took an active roll in her care and did all the research that I could on her condition. I discussed options with her doctor and convinced the doc to stop the morphine. Two days later Deb was home and is now doing well.
Just needed to vent and let You guys know why I havent been around lately.Happy holidays to all.

Mark

Helen's and my prayers are with you and Deb over the holidays and thru out the year. God bless and Happy Holidays.

Mark, I know how you feel. My daughter is going to be five years old soon and she has already had nine surgeries. Some minor and quite a few major. Nothing like seeing a 3 month old, 10 pound baby girl hooked to a ventilator, and all them tubes.:(

But stay strong, stay by her side, show her how much she means to you, and show God your faith. It is times like this that make you realize what is truely important in life.

God Bless...

Sean

Hey, Mark and Deb-- You guys have to stay well enough so that we can demolish trout and primerib at the Toccoa On The River Restaurant in the near future! Helen and I would like several repeats with the two of you. Glad you are on the mend, Deb. Would not feel right if someone other than you whomped up a big pot of Brunswick Stew for the hammer/in. (Deb's stew is thick enough to cut with a knife!) (Obligatory knife content!!!) Sandy
