Happy Thanksgiving

In some ways, it's been a very rough year for my family. Especially on the health front. My father passed away from melanoma. My mom was diagnosed with cancer. I was diagnosed with melanoma just like my dad. My wife had to have eye surgery to repair a retina that had a hole torn in it. My daughter had to have emergency gall bladder surgery.

But I can still say that I'm thankful for so much. My wife and daughter are healed up and back to normal (whatever that is). My melanoma was caught soon enough that I should be able to fight it for a long time. My mom is doing well. I have a job that's able to support my family and provide me with some fun and challenging work.

I'm thankful for a Lord and Savior that gives me the strength to withstand the storms that hit my life.

I'm also thankful for a bunch of friends that I only know because of our shared addiction of knives made by a really cool group of folk known as Fiddleback Forge.

I know you feel Thurin. I'm coming up on the 1 year anniversary of my mother's passing. She also had cancer, liver cancer coupled with kidney failure. It's been extremely hard without her. My father, well let's just say that he isn't much of one, a hardcore alcoholic & very abusive retired cop.

Mother's are special, take care of them as they have taken care of you...

I know we as a Fiddleback family have certainly had our share of difficult times this year. Nathan your family has had enough for all of us. HW you have my deepest sympathy and understanding as my family will be struggling with my mother's passing just last month. All of our families have life's issues to endure and yet, for me, mine pale in comparison to how much I have to be thankful for.

Nathan I share your faith and am the most thankful for that. I have so many wonderful blessings in my life that I will be privately embracing today.

For now, I am thankful to my Fiddleback family. I have made so many friendships here (too many to list) over the years. Even though I haven't actually met most of the people I am referring to it doesn't minimize the impact they have made in my life or my thankfulness for their friendship. I am thankful for all of you.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING everyone from my family to yours!!

Happy Thanksgiving to all. Safe travels for those on the roads, waterways and air this weekend. And many thanks the the crew at FBF. I make my living with products that I have to import from abroad. I would much prefer not too, but that's how our economy runs today. In my private life, I try to consume as much as possible from American craftsmen. Andy and his crew are a step above craftsmen and rise to the level of artists.

I am thankful to have stumbled across this little community recently.
 
A big Thanksgiving fist bump to all on this special holiday. Lets remember to hug the ones we love and give thanks to all that have impacted our lives. I for one am grateful for the feeling of community that each of you have contributed to here on Andy's sub forum. For that I say thanks and wish you & your family's a wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday. A special thanks to Andy & Crew for everything they do !
 
At a time in which everything around us appears to be deteriorating, I am thankful for an environment right here on the forum which enables a great group of men and women with strong character to come together and share similar interests. I have found you all to be some of the most honest, caring and giving individuals I know.

Happy thanksgiving everyone. We don't celebrate it here in Norway, but I appreciate the concept. It is a good day to mourn ones losses and show appreciation for the blessings in life. After a rough year with a few deaths in our family it is good to take remember the good times with the ones who have passed and look at the brighter sides of life together with the ones that are left.

I often remind myself how great I have it, but today is always very special. I have a fantastic wife, two awesome little girls, and another one on the way. When I was younger I honestly never thought my life would turn out like this, but I am indescribably grateful it did. I can't (and don't want to) imagine it any other way.

I am also grateful for this forum. I am constantly learning new things here. And always love to see the generosity and kindness displayed here - although it's pretty much the norm for this group of people (who rock!).
