We just wanted to wish everyone a very safe & happy Thanksgiving! We have so many things to be thankful for this holiday season. With all that has happened this year Thanksgiving seems to hold an even deeper meaning for me. I think many of you feel the same. We are truely blessed.

Safe traveling & God Bless !!

Terry, Sandi & kids

Hi Sandi:

Wish I could visit you this year. I know you'll have a turkey and a couple of hams that will be fit for a king. And, I know you won't have any leftovers with Terry there to help.

Thanks and blessings to all.

I guess it will be just Yangdu and me this year. Probably fried flies and rice.

Thanks Sandi! and the same to you and Terry and everyone of my extended family here on the forum:) I wish we could all pull up chairs around a HUGE table and eat till we burst:D

Uncle,
Probably fried flies and rice
, I'm starting to worry that you're NOT kidding:eek:  ;)

Thanksgiving has been over for about a month :(

Poor people have poor ways -- and strange diets.

Uncle,
Rich people have poor ways too! Some of them even worse. They just have more money to hide it. Besides it's not what you have in your wallet, it is what you have in your heart that makes a person truely rich & happy! The strange diet I can relate to though. I remember when Terry & I first got married it seemed that all we could afford is wienies. Man i'm tellin' you I think we had wienie everything - wienie soup & wienie cake, etc. We couldn't buy the good kind either (if there is a good kind) We had to buy the 49 cent kind.

Uncle I sure do wish you all could be here too! I always hate to see you all go back home. You and Yangdu have a very special place in our heart & family. You are welcome any time. What are you all doing for Christmas?

Rob, I wish we could all get togather too. Everyone on the forum has become family & we will be thinking of you all Thurs.

Maybe I can get a frozen turkey dinner.

Brother Fred and family had planned to come to Reno for Thanksgiving but it fell thru due to Fred's work committments so it will be just Yangdu and me. Vikash is working Th thru Sunday -- double shifts each day!!!

Happy Thanksgiving to all!!! Have fun and be SAFE!!!! This will be a good one for me too. I had to work the past few years on all the holiday's because I was the "new" guy but now I'm half way up on the totum pole so I get Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years off!!!:D I work for Wal-Mart Distribution center 6019 and that darn machine never shuts down completly!

It would be nice if we could all sit down together and enjoy each other's company and I know what we would use to carve the turkey but I don't think I even need to say!!!!:D

Uncle,
What are your plans for Christmas. I bet we could find an extra turkey leg or two. I'm sure Yangdu wouldn't mind turkey as long as she had Tabasco sauce to go along with it. I know it's a long & expensive way to travel but if you all deside to get away you are always welcome.

Many thanks for the offer, Sandi. I guess we'll be right here Christmas, eating fried flies and rice. Travel allowance is finished for the year.

Happy Thanksgiving everybody. I hope you all have a safe enjoyable time. :)

Happy Turkey Day Everyone!!!!

And don't let Uncle Bill kid y'all around. If he doesn't have the food cooked at home, it's a rather short drive or walk down to the casino where food and liquor is cheap and the stakes are high.;)
If Uncle Bill and family go hungry today for the classic Turkey, Dressing and Cranberry sauce, it'll be their own dayumed fault's.;) :D

Ooopsie. :-)
Rob's got the right idea. Many years ago all the people in our neighborhood in Florida did just what he suggested.
It was a Turkey Day that was not soon forgotten. And back in the mid '40's it wasn't too often one saw mixed races coming together like that, brought the whole neighborhood closer.
I can just see all of us gathered around a humongous table. buily extra, extra strong to hold all of the khukuris as well as all the turkeys.:D

I want to add my HTD thoughts too...

This is truly more of a family than any other place I've found on the 'net'. I guess that is one of the things I'm greatful for this year... finding the cantina open :) .

Have a great week everyone!

Alan

Well, the fried flies and rice are history.

It is rather like family here and nice it is. The Cantina is like the Nevada casinos--always open.
