You've grown so fast, with kindness in your heart, and a gentle touch, you're not so little anymore, but you'll always be my little girl

Nice, the blue really pops. Mind if I ask how old she is? My girls are 6 and 9 but neither are quite ready for a knife just yet.

I have 2 girls, one is six and one is three. My 6 year old is beyond her years, she is very responsible, and logical. I got the Mora for her because she always wants to use mine, and because I thought that she was ready to start learning on a real blade the very basics. Safety, muscle memory, control. I just got done hovering over her and giving her instruction while she made some feather sticks and spear points. After she is done we lock it up and she can ask any time she wants more practice with me there.

I really think it depends on the kid. I just gave a few Moras to my Nephews who are 11 and 8 (boys), and I'm thinking that may not have been so good after working with them for a bit.

Aint those girls great?!?! Thanks Cereal

Yo mama, you have the correct method down pat! I was the same way with my son at that age and today, at age 29, he knows all the basic rules with a knife. You are training the next generation of knifeknuts and doing a great job.:)

That is an awesome present, I would have been happy to get that! I got my daughter (she is 18 and away at college) the Mora with the fire starter in the handle. She loves that kind of thing. I started her young as well and she knows the proper etiquette. You know you have done things right when you are dropping her off at college, and unpacking her in the dorm and find that she has secretly taken your SAK.

Very nice! I got my girl a Mora Clipper 2 years ago... and she's only cut herself once with it (so far...).
