Nothing is more true than "happy wife happy life"....but my wife has been more than accommodating to my knife collecting needs lately. I really wanted to include her and we have talked about what kind of fixed blade knife she would want. I gave her the option of custom, store bought, somewhere in between.... what did she chose? A survive starter 3.5; burgundy linen scales with ferro notch and black kydex....has anyone else been able to include their sig-nif-other in their obsessive habit?

I love the thread title. The "happy wife, happy life" is a little joke between my wife and I so I got a nice little lol upon seeing that.

Redwood, you've got a keeper there, but you already knew that.

My wife and knives are at two separate ends of my happy little existence. Most things involving the outdoors is "me time" kind of stuff, but especially anything sharp is something I enjoy alone. I'm ok with that.
 
My wife and I love going on outings but we have not been together since our son was born, 2 years ago. If I'm not working she is and vise versa. She enjoys out doors stuff like hunting and loves to fish. Knives have never been a big deal to her. Finally last month she asked when I was gonna get her one. So starting off light, I bought her a spyderco delica ffg vg-10 in purple frn. To have a something that was close to hers I got an endura ffg vg-10 in coyote brown. When they came in she said she liked it but already wanted a different one. I asked what, and she pulled out my Manix 2 and para 2. Said something like one of these. I love my baby.

I figure in time once we start getting back to the woods as a family she will fall in love with a S! Maybe once she sees my 3.5 shell ask for one of her own. :) which id gladly get her.
 
Ha.. Awesome.. My wife is about as tough as they come.. She thrives being outside.. Loves camping, shooting, hiking/backpacking and she also shoots a longbow very well..
She has also done manual/physical labor her entire working carrer, starting it all as a backcountry trail worker.. She LOVES knives, uses them daily and has tolerated me being a knife junkie very well.. All at a cost of course.. Periodically I would receive a knife and she would see It and say, "Oh this is nice, It's for me right".. I would just smile and nod.. So needless to say she has a nice little collection going of her own..
She did however LOVE my GSO 3.5.. I'm sure she would also like to get her little paws on one someday..:) And yes we even have Damascus/Platinum wedding rings.. :D
 
Well my wife decided she wanted a 4.1. So I looked and Mr. Muelys has one up for grabs. Hoping we get it, fingers crossed no one else has emailed or pm'd him. :/

Good luck! I saw it for sale and I really had talk myself out of going for it. It would be so cool if you got it!

Will you be getting new handle scales for it, too??

Yes I did get it and purple is her color. :) she's acting like me this morning. "Did you hear yet huh huh huh!!!" I told her to relax and just look at some knife porn.
 
My wife is who got ME into the hobby.. i mean habit... i mean addiction!

I do production work for some boutique makers and my wife asked me if i could grab one for her. I'm a cheapskate to the core, and didn't want to pay the price for a custom, so I went looking for a good EDC that she and I could both use.

I've been eyeing ZT's for a while and finally found the perfect (for us) EDC. The ZT-0450.

Needless to say, the 0450 is never more than an arms radius away from her and its always in my pocket or at my bedside..

Thats awesome TT congrats, that was a nice 4.1, if you don't need the old black canvas handles let me know and I'll be happy to find them a home :)

When I got my new ZT0770CF, my wife spotted it and said "Oh that's nice". I handed it to her to look at, and 10 seconds later she says "Can I have it?". This was literally right after I opened it. She loves how small and light the 0770CF is, and it's in her purse right now. :thumbup:

Since then our agreement is she is free to take any knife I have as long as I can replace it! :D

Congratulations! That's awesome that she's excited about knives. You might have to lock up your other ones now!
 
So I just ordered momma her new purple g10 scales. Just wondering how long she'll have to wait. There wasn't an availability notice like my 5.1 scales.

She loves her 4.1. She took it this weekend to a family outing. And she didn't even need to take it. I love her.
