Happy with Smith ark stone on KME

So, I had some time on my hands yesterday and decided I wanted to see if using a Smith Arkansas stone that I had lying around would work with my KME. Its a 4x1 inch fine Arkansas stone that's thicker than the KME stones but I adjusted for it and was really pleased with the results. I don't like the finish the diamond 1500 leaves on the bevel so I thought what the heck I'll try this. Seems to have worked well and refined the scratch pattern much better. What do you guys think. This is a WE Practic in m390.
