so i've had my CSAR for a few months now and am really happy for the niche i use it in. bought it mainly just to...well i don't know but it's a Buck and that was reason enough and expected it just to be enjoyed but not used much.
doens't fit in my edc rotation as that's for my Vantage Pro/Paradigm Pro or if something beefier my SBMF each w/ a 309. for out and about on the trails/ day hiking i match a 302, 112 ecolight and 105 due to the low weight. and for camping/heavier trail use a 301, 110and 119/120 got it covered.
but when out for photos for a few hours and not knowing if that'll lead to the field or the city the CSAR is sturdy enough for some rough use (though not a fixed blade have some confidence in it) for out in the woods but compact enough (not light but can go in a pocket when best to be "discreet" in the city). sorta like my CCW, not "comfortable" but "comforting". toss in a smidgen for no extra weight but a bit better for fine detail and it's a nice utility package.
mine came perfect. well centered and no blade play at all. with the mass of the blade it actually opens WAY easier then expected, just get it going and it continues to swing on open. has proven much more useful then expected
