Hapstone Start Diamond vs Hapstone Resin Diamond

Hi there,

I have a Hapstone Sharpening system and am wanting to slowly grow a diamond or CBN set of stones, starting with a reprofiling stone. Most of my knives are D2, 20CV and V Toku 2, ZDP 189. Does anyone know the diferrence between the Hapstone Start and Hapstone Resin? Is the Hapstone Resin worth the extra $?

Get Venev Orion set they have the start ones are cheap Chinese diamond plate's and they will sharpen your knives but they don't last that long.

The Venev stones work great on stainless steel and carbon steel and always give a great edge,use 60 120 and 400 grit aluminum oxide powder or silicon carbide powder on a peace of glass mixed with water to refresh the Venev stones,when you refresh the Venev stones your just trying to expose more diamonds so the stone cut fast again.

Also I wouldn't buy the Hapstone resin stones either,they are made by a company called Poltava and their metal bond CBN and Diamond stones are fine but their resin stones are no where as good as the Venev resin diamond stones.
