Hapstone V6 vs. V7

Hi All!

I posted this under General Knife Discussion which may have been the wrong area since I have not heard back from anyone yet. I'm new to this forum and am not familiar with how it works so please let me know if I'm in the wrong area again.

I'm new to knife sharpening but wanted to know if it's worth the difference in price to go with the V7 over the V6. If so, why? Your expertise and opinions would be great.

@Gritomatic might be able to help with that.

Personally I think I would be fine with the v6.
I got the m2 with metallic diamond stones just recently. I haven't even had time to open the package yet. The only thing I would upgrade from it is the angle adjustment.

I'm not sure how many other folks here have hapstone v6 or v7.

Have you considered the r1 over the v7?

Thanks for the reply! The R1 is almost $400 so I'm not sure if it's an option for me although the rotating clamp looks like a great idea. I've tried to contact Gritomatic, but they may be closed for the holidays, or I just don't have the right contact information.

I think they are probably out for the holidays as you mentioned.
Good point about the price jump.
