Hard Chrome finish

Hi,
i'm on the verge of purchasing a Mini-Commander in satin finish BUT the paragraph below from Emersons site concerns me,

"We no longer offer the bead blasted surface as a finish on the blades. All the blades that have the silver or gray finish are now Hard Chrome coated. This is an extremely durable finish and provides a very good rust prevention coating. All blades that are not Black-T coated are Hard Chromed".

Is hard chromed coated the same shade of colour as the satin finish ?.

yep they look pretty much the same to me.

EKIs satin finish wasnt a bright shiney satin, kinda dull, so the hard chrome looks about the same.
 
I think that paragraph from the site may be very old.
As I understand it they phased out hard chrome starting in 2004. It is now a ceramic finish and silver is a closer description than satin.

I may be wrong though, anyone confirm?
 
Hard chrome looks fantastic. I have read some posts on this forum that the ceramic finish does not wear well.
 
Received yesterday my Mini-Commander and the blade finish is basically like a Bead Blast (imo).

Very happy and relieved.
