Hi Guys,
Was reading something the other day about stropping on hard felt and it was more forgiving as far as keeping the precise angle on every stroke.
Is this true and where might I get some of this

Your opinions Please,
Eric

Hard felt in proper use is for burr removal between stones and before you move on to a leather strop. It has more give than leather and makes it easier to roll your edges. I use mine for its intended purpose and rarely finish with it.

It will work as a deburring pad but the results are much different with a leather or hard surface strop (ie. wood with compound)

So using the diamond spray on that site in conjunction with the felt pad linked above wouldn't be work as well as using a leather strop?

Though I've found it makes a WONDERFUL in-betweenr'. I do hard felt w/ 1 mic spray after my finest stone just to make sure its strop ready, then .5 mic CrO on leather, then bare hard pressed horsebutt leather. Also have a hard felt block I draw the blade through a couple of times after each stone I use, superb deburring.

Best thing to do is experiment, its fun and you'll figure out what works for you.
