Hard time making a decision

Ok, I am looking at two knives that I can carry everyday so that I won't feel naked. I have been carrying a BM mini-grip and like it, but am open to something new.

I'm down to two knives. One is the Lil' temperance and the other is the Yojimbo. I want a blade that has a MBC rated lock mechanism and is legal to carry where I live (3" or under). Am I missing any other options that I should consider. I own a Dodo but the tip broke easily on me and that doesn't make me feel very confident in that one. I hope the other two have thicker blade tips, but I have never seen or handled either one. I am not blaming Syperdo, I did put some side pressure on that very thin tip. Clay

Maybe someone who knows better can chime in, but I think the Lil' Temperance is a hair longer than 3" (maybe 3.06" or something like that), and I think the Yojimbo is a bit under 3". That might make your decision easier.

I checked the Spyderco web site and you are right. The cutting edge is 3", but it lists blade length as 3 1/16". You would think that it would would be 3.4" or 2.9 inches. Guess the lil' tempest is out. Might as well carry one of BM 710s. Clay

Clay, the Yojimbo has a 2 3/4" blade. The tip is thin, but I don't believe overly so. This knife was designed for self-defense, and as such, I don't have a problem with the tip. It's strong enough to hold up to what it needs to, and from the testing I've done, I think it's a lot stronger than it looks like. The S30V helps with that, I believe. Give one a try, I think you'd be pleased with it.

Thanks Blade man. Sounds like I will have to work up a trade for one. Now I just have to figure out what I am willing to let go, or should I just buy ANOTHER KNIFE.
