Yesterday I read that the King has called for general elections though. Is this good news? I can never tell. Prayers for Nepal.

The Nepali people & Europe & US have been asking for democratic Elections for a long time.
The king had one a couple of months ago was a shame. {opposing party leaders put under house arrest etc., so massive boycots.}
I hope I am wrong but normaly The king just says stuff the western press/poloticians etc. want to hear. {If I was Nepali & I said that, I could be beaten & jailed without any court case for just saying it on the evidence of any informer}
Its normaly just good political sound bites.
The history of Nepal politics & Their Royal Family gives Macheovelian a new meaning.
It is full on martial law there . {The king heads the Army.}
Lots of people killed this last fortnight.
Its a lovely country & people but it is in a real mess.
A freind in Kathamando says she has never seen it so bad.
Sadley it will probably get worse before it gets better.
The US embassy there has just evacuated all non Emergency personel & thier families.

Hard working, dedicated, wonderful people thriving in a country that continues to mistreat its citizenry.
