Hi!
I saw a thread about hard to find Spydercos at the Spyderco Forum, and I wonder if the Orange-colored Rescue or the Blue Delica are _very_ hard to find in the US?

Here in Europe I've seen them both at a couple of places, I'm not sure about the pricing, if you can compare it to the Japanese prices?!

Not really dude...

Some on-line stores do stock the orange rescues and blue delicas.. :D

I bought my Blue Delica from Michael Dye at New Graham Pharmacy around six months ago. It cost me about $40.00 (so did the Sharpmaker 204 I got from him at the same time).

I just ordered my large Orange Rescue from John F Jenson; price: $41.00. Also a Navigator G10 for around $43.00.

And don't ask about what I'm putting out for the Emerson Mini Commander and the SAK and the Old Hickory "sticker" and the...:)

Hope this helps.

Karl

PS What's with the "Yeah, whatever..."

Not sure what this is supposed to convey? Seems ill mannered and dismissive towards Samo, who on here and on the Spyderco forum has always impressed me as a great advocate of our mutual interest in knives with his constant enthusiasm, friendliness and cheerfulness.

In regards to you question, the Orange Rescue and Blue Delica may not be on the shelves at every Mart-mart store, but they are pretty easy to find with a little looking. Try a google.com search and you should be able to find several places that will ship them to you.

Blue Delica
http://www.shoplite.com/spyderco69.htm has it for $44 US

http://www.aspitactical.com/spyderco/spyderco.asp has it for $42.99 US

Orange Rescue
http://www.shoplite.com/spyderco120.htm has it for $48.64 US

Can't help you with price comparisons to the Japanese prices, but http://www.xe.com/ucc/ will let you convert almost any currency into any other, so maybe that will shed some light on it for you.

Well well, I guessed this would happend! :(

Nothing personal to you Samo, I was veeery tired the day that I posted the "What ever..." thing! So I'll just have to say I'm sorry!

I hope that all of you that I have offended (?) can accept my appologize!? If not then I can't do much about it anymore!

And to the rest of you : I'm NOT going to buy a Orange Rescue or Blue delica from the US, cos I can find them more easily here in Europe! :)
In the worst case I'll have to wait about one week before they would lay here on my desk... If I'm lucky it would take about 2-3 days!

BUT the post was ment to be a tip for you guys, when you are drooling over these Japanese sites with the rare and "hard to find Spydies", maybe they arn't that hard to find after all...?

Celery,
Do you know of any european online stores (english would be helpful) that are well supplied and would have yellow rescues or pink crickets?
Thanks in Advance.

Hey welcome Kraziekurtis! I've seen you a few times on the Spyderco General Forum and it's nice to see a familiar face at bladeforums. see ya around!

Hi boxer93!
Take a look at www.tool-shop.com! There you might find what you are looking for! I'm not sure about the pink crickets, but I'm positive about the yellow rescues! :)

Thanks for the tip on tool-shop; that is a good looking website with lots of nice stuff. Didn't see the yellow Rescues, but then I just made a quick pass through the site. I will go through them tonight more slowly.

As for the 'whatever', I just wanted to make sure if you meant it to come across like it did. I work in I.T. project support/management and see people have problems all the time because their email or memos don't convey what they want them to. Just an on-the-job reflex ;)

I have never bought any knives from overseas, might have to check it out. I have bought fountain pens from England, Germany and Chile, and despite everybody's warnings, none of them ever have gotten lost or damaged by customs inspections.

Yes, no problem!
I think you can find a yellow rescue on page 7, maybe you have seen it already?
I'm not sure but to me it looks like a rescue Jr. maybe It's just the color that makes it look "Rescue Jr.-like"? :)
Or they could just have the wrong pic on their site!

OOOOOO! Yellow Rescues and pink Crickets!

I just love colorful knives! I'll check out that toolshop site.

I recently got a pink SAK Classic and the Stars and Stripes Arclite from 1SKS. Need more Spydies, though (of course). Still waiting on that Orange Rescue and G10 Navigator...

I went and looked at page 7 and that seems to be an orange Rescue Jr. showing there now.

As scarce as some of the colored ones are getting now, I wish that I would have kept the OD green Endura and bought the red Endura that we had in a shop that I worked at years ago.....

A long, long time ago I was copilotboy on the Spyderco Forum. Then I was only on my first spydie: the copilot. Now I'm on my sixth, so I decided on a different username for bladeforums.

Saw the pics on page 7. Didn' t realize Spyderco offers the Rescue in PLAIN edge!

And judging from the shape of that "yellow" Rescue, it is in fact a current orange model.

I appreciate the calibre of the communication between the visitors to the Spyderco forum. Thank you. There's a lot of sincerity and class travelling around this forum.
