Just got a ZT 0550, which I really really like. But I'm a Benchmade guy through and through and they don't like another stallion in there stable.

Besides the 275 and 615 which I have and love, what other Benchmade could be called " a hard user" besides the 755 for that blasted tip down only clip!

Still in production would be great but a discontinued model suggestion works as well.

Thanks for the time.

( not sure if general or a sub forum topic, move as needed. )

Almost any axis lock knife can be considered "hard use". Harder than you could put any ti-frame lock through.

The ADAMAS folder is about as hard use as you'll find.

Agreed, I just kinda like to have two knives in a category to swap when I tire of one.
Maybe a mini 275 one day?

Any other suggestions.

Conte go all the way I love my 275 its my go to beat the snot out of folder now , the contego IMO is just as good a knife as the 275

My old 730CFHS is definitely a work horse. The M2 blade takes a beating and keeps on eating. I've used it for cutting yards of cardboard, fiberglass insulation, sheetrock and trimming rough cuts on 2x4s, plus plenty of yard work. Yes, you do need to sharpen it, but that edge lasts for longer than anything else I've used. The Axis lock is self-adjusting, and I've not had it fail me yet, in almost 10 years.

If you can find a 710 in M2 (may be cheaper than the 730) you would do good to pick one up.

They're available as a dealer exclusive in CPM-M4 right now.

Also, pretty jealous of that 730CFHS :D

Yeah, I'd go for the 730 in CPM-M4, or the limited run in M390, if you can find one.

It's funny how 10 years will make a knife a "grail" knife. When it came out, I bought it along with a Camillus Cuda Maxx 5.5 for $200.

If you're looking for a thick blade folder there's also the Benchmade 810 Contego. Then, of course, the fixed blades.

+1 to this. After the 275, the next knife that jumps to mind is the 810 to me. It's a tanky, jimpy bugger, that one, and CPM-M4 is pretty awesome. I could do without the glass breaker, and I wish the cutout shape at the top of the handle wasn't so deep, but it's still a great knife, IMO.

Sorry, meant the 710 was out in CPM-M4. I don't know of any 730 that's been released in it... though you're right, the M390 730s are pretty awesome. ;)

I keep grabbing an old 806D2 when I need something big to beat on, though... I doubt they'll ever get quite as marked up as your sounds, haha.

As others have mentioned, the 810 Contego is a great hard-use knife in the 4" area, as is the 520 Presidio and the 950 Rift for the 3.4" - 3.75" range.
