Hate to sound like a broken record... but did anyone else notice how the lock disengaged while he was prying the wood? Yes, the spinewhacks & hammer strikes that caused failure were instances in which he didn't have his hand supporting the framelock. It seemed like his hand was supporting the lock while doing the prying test, however.
It happens at 12:37 in the video - the blade comes close to cutting his hand when the failure occurs.
It was interesting to see that especially considering that the lockup was mid to late.
I would like to respond to this particular observation. I am pretty sure now that all the lock weaknesses in testing came from the fact that frame spring wasn't tight enough out of the box. After I took the knife apart and bend it, the lock behavior changed. It just feels and performs much solidly and reliably now.
