HARD USE strider testing by vininull !!!!!!!!

Brutal!

I thought for sure when he stabbed the concrete at 14:15 the tip would've snapped. Wow.

Thanks for posting.

No surprises there based on my own testing experiences with Striders. :)

Hate to sound like a broken record... but did anyone else notice how the lock disengaged while he was prying the wood? Yes, the spinewhacks & hammer strikes that caused failure were instances in which he didn't have his hand supporting the framelock. It seemed like his hand was supporting the lock while doing the prying test, however.

It happens at 12:37 in the video - the blade comes close to cutting his hand when the failure occurs.

It was interesting to see that especially considering that the lockup was mid to late.

I wish this guy would test even more knives. I got my 0550, one of my first ZTs after watching that test video.

That said, I am not going to be first in line to send him knives to test with!

Nice vid! While I would never bash my Striders like that, it's good to know that they can take some abuse. As for the lock, seems inherent on a framelock when you don't support it with your hand. Plus the couple failures I saw with Striders in other vids did not pop the lock bar out, but push it in towards the opposite scale and basically locked the knife even more.

I would like to respond to this particular observation. I am pretty sure now that all the lock weaknesses in testing came from the fact that frame spring wasn't tight enough out of the box. After I took the knife apart and bend it, the lock behavior changed. It just feels and performs much solidly and reliably now.

Please keep doing what you do, V. You are the Noss of folder testing, my friend!

That is common. They do not come with enough spring to make up for wear past a certain point. Due to the thickness of the blade and how it would operate. Thus, leaving room for adjustment.
Fun video. I miss my SMF and SNG.
