I looked around and really did not see any pictures of these fine knives with some use on them. Just wondering if anyone has any that have developed some character. I would love to see some pictures of a well used XM-18. They sure do look great new, but I think they will look even better well used.

i just traded mine, but used it frequently.

the stonewash finish on both the blade and scale hide blemishes really well. other than the polished edge, it really looked brand new.

My blasted finished XM-18 has some light scuffs similar to my Sebenzas. Gives it character.

They really do not show wear very easily. Here are some pictures of my EDC XM-18. I have taken some close ups so you can see the scale damage. The blade does not show much wear in the pictures. It has held up much better than any other knife I have carried for this length of time. I work industrial construction and carry this knife to work every day. It has been used for all kinds of things and has never given me any problems or worries about possible damage. The black on the blade is just some rubber cement from a tire plug I cut the other day. Sticky stuff, but it will come off soon.

jdraizor,
Cool pics! IMHO, the best Hinderers are ALWAYS the ones that get the hard use. :D

Looks pretty darn used to me  Hey, what's that fat little fixed blade called? It's got the Hinderer "look" all over it but the BUSEE hole in front of the handle on the blade.. Specs if you care to add them would be cool too. Thanks! :)

It is a Busse Game Warden, the OJ(or Hunter) Warden to be specific. It is actually one of the thinnest wardens at .14" thick. It is a good match for the Hinderer in the woods. But then again, I am partial to all things orange.

Sure looks chunky when looking at the tang in the handle. Very nice. Out of production I assume?

Sorry guys, post those hard used XM-18's & 24's .......as if......:D :D

Any idea what it was specifically that caused that pitting in the orange G10?

I have no idea what did that. Keys in my pocket over time? Sand and gravel being under it when I lay the knife down to get another tool? I really don't know. I did not received the knife new from Hinderer so they could have been there from something else, but I don't remember those little holes being there when I received it.

Oh well, if you ever get sick & tired of 'em, new scales are available. I saw my first pond scum Hinderer scale and it certainly looked like "pond scum." Yuck - not to my taste at all!! :D

To my eyes it almost looks like a chemical splatter. I have no idea though.

Awwwww, how can you say that? Pond Scum / Water is a thing if beauty!!!

Easily my favorite, even above Orange or CF.

Those pond scum scales are kind of neat looking.

I seen some blue/black G10 Hinderer scales and I really liked the looks of those
