Hardcache Cases

Why not just go with the tried-and-true Pelican or Otter boxes? The site seems to have quite a bit of neat stuff...the Jetscream whistle is a great standby

The NRA online store has a survival kit that comes in the hardcache box. They sell for around $20 and comes with a blastmatch, jetscream, starflash mirror, and wetfire tinder. It's a great buy. Mac

PS the box is pretty cool, very strudy and seals nice.

I was looking at that kit. I wasn't sure if it was the same box. Does the NRA box come with the box labeled "NRA" or is it a fairly "clean" box?

Yes, the box does have the NRA logo on it now that you mention it. It is the same box that they sell their small kit in. I thought the NRA kit was a no brainer buy. The stuff inside is a great deal. Mac

The cases are well made and so are the oter products. I use the hardcache to hold things like my wallet, (and smokes before I quit,) and other stuff when I'm canoeing / kayaking. They always worked great for me.

I picked up a couple of the kits from the NRA and the box is excellent, as is the other gear. Gave the wife one kit and I split mine up and turned the box into a FAK.

I have a few of those cases and they work great. The only complaint is I was a little underwhelmed by the amount of interior space.

I also used one of those sabercut saws on a winter camping trip in Northern Vermont and it worked great. Of all the gear we were carrying, that little saw was the most used and second in value only to my sleeping bag.

The Ultimate Survival Hardcase is an Otterbox. I spoke with US at SHOT this year they have a new box that they are going to be selling soon. Its the same size but a little less reflective and more aesthetically pleasing.

I have found these boxes to be very sturdy and wouldnt hesitate to recomend them.
