Hardened steel pommel?

I want to use a hardened steel pommel on a new design I am working on.
What I've found is that SS shrinks somewhat after it is HT. If I tap and thread the pommel will it shrink to the point of being loose when threaded back on the tang???
Plans are to use S30V on a 1/4x20 threaded S30v tang.

Anybody had experience with this?

I frequently drill and tap holes on stainless parts [ATS-34] as small as 0-80 before heat treat and have never had any problems. I have found that it is a good idea to clean out the threads with a slightly used tap and lots of lubricant.
