I finally found a nice set of stag scales, but now I need to harden/stablize them.

I got a suggestion to leave them in Thompson's Water Seal for a week. Is that a good remedy, and are there any other "home fixes," or should I just send it off to get done professionally? (and who would I send it to?)

BTW -- I've been reading about the stabilizing equipment, but right now I don't have time to build myself one.

Thanks a bunch.

Lay them on there backs with the porous side up, tape the ends so there is no leakage. Fill with super glue till it wont take any more and accelerator to make it set up. when solid finish on a flat sander. Gib
