Hey guys, what is your easiest and hardest custom knife to sharpen? What types of steel? Thanks!

As a maker I gotta tell you the most difficult knives to sharpen are those made of poor quality steel. Sure I can get them sharp, but the edges don't last.
And the knives with poor designed edge geometry are right to follow. (I do not want to pick on any one in particular)

Easiest to sharpen are those with proper designed edge geometry.

Thomas,

I agree with you about the right edge geometry.
I had this custom that was made from CPM 420v that was the hardest blade I've ever tried to sharpen....and I know what I'm doing!
Easiest steel to sharpen, IMHO, is simple carbon steel that is properly forged and Talonite (which isn't even a steel).
Good knife steel holds a good edge, some better than others.
