I have a hardness tester purchased from Texas Knifemaker's supply years ago. While testing a batch last night, I saw where the needle would not return to zero on my first blade and would not work thereafter. It makes 3 revolutions and then back the other direction a bit to give you your reading. I got my reading and then pushed the weight bearing lever back and the needle never went back to zero. Tapping on it brought the needle back around a little bit, but not all the way. A subsequent try showed the diamond point was not moving, so I dern sure did not want to force anything...I ust backed off and went to bed.

Any suggestions?
