What's the best hardness for throwing knives?
Is there a table showing different knife steels and proper hardness for throwing?
How about softening blades made for other purposes if you want to use then for throwing?
I'm thinking along the lines of less brittle less damage.
Educate me ;-)

Mid range handness such as 44-46 RC works great for most tool steels like O-1, 1050 and 1095. I am familar with these. Stainless steels do not do well for throwers. You can make throwers out of them, but they tend to chip out at any hardness.
