Hardware for Leather

Hello,
I am looking for a few different kinds of hardware and not really sure where to look.

I am looking for:
- Chicago screws with truss heads
- Finish washers to match the truss heads on the Chicago screws.
- Screw on button snaps
I am getting into sheath making and would like to upgrade my hardware selections, I have "standard" stuff but would like to get more into the higher end hardware.

Thanks for the help in advance!

I've been around a while and I don't recognize the names you are using, but here goes. Nearly all USA made Chicago screws come with 8/32 threads and pan head screws. I have seen some Chicago screws with a "truss like" semi domed head but they have been few and far between . You can buy 8/32 truss head and replace the screws that come with the set on a individual basis as it becomes necessary. You should be able to find the matching finish washers at the same Hillman Display at your friendly hardware store.

Screw on button snaps, if that is truly what you are looking to find should be available at any marine, or RV supply store, and they are readily available on line.........but if you mean by screw on snap that you are looking for a screw on Sam Brown button stud, then Tandy has those in nickel over brass, brass and black.

Now, if you really want to upgrade your work, consider making everything fully leather lined. That way any unsightly part of the hardware is mostly covered up.

I hope that was of some help.

Paul

Thank you for the help!
I am going to go check out my local hardware store and see what I might be able to come up with. I have a few Sam Brown button Studs that I am messing around with. The leather lining is something that I am going to try here soon, I have a few ideas that I am going to try and produce.
