where can one find decorative 8/32 blackened torque's screws for attaching scales. I found some at Jantz but they are smaller than I am looking for and only in stainless and brass.
I know there out there as I see them on finished blades.
Thanks Jerry

I'm assuming you mean Torx screws.

Knifekits.com has black stainless steel 8-32 flat head and truss head (large diameter dome) Torx screws in a variety of lengths. But be sure to read the descriptions carefully, as some are described as black oxide coated stainless steel, while others are just described as black oxide coated, and may not be stainless steel (and will rust through the oxide coating).

I haven't seen decorated black oxide screws of any size, ever.

I haven't seen decorated screws in 8-32 pitch.

Are you trying to match existing threads? Do they need to be 8-32?

8-32 thread is common in the electrical trade, often used for mounting light fixtures. Not usually Torx, but you might ask at your local electric supply house.

No Not necessarily I have 8/32 X1/4 inserts that I have been using with the torx screws I have. I have seen some with like 6 to 8 holes around the perimeter of the screw head.
Just wondering where to buy them. I can find 6/48 but they are way too small. for attaching scales to a combat sized blade.
Thanks Jerry

Yes I meant torx but my spell check fixed that for me. The only place I find anything like that is Jantz but they are only in brass and stainless. I was wanting black. I have never tried to coat stainless or brass. anyone have any luck there??? I have seen the ones on Knife kits, but they are plain. Thats who i have all my others and inserts from. But I just may have to go that route no big deal. I just had a look in mind, Thanks for all your help.

I not sure about the finishes, but McMaster-Carr stocks a boatload of hardware, and different style fasteners.

He's asking for:

1. 8-32 thread pitch
2. Decorated heads
3. Black oxide coated

You can get any two of those pretty easy.

All 3 likely doesn't exist.

I'll wager I shop for and use all sorts of hardware more than most and I've never seen such a thing.

I'm not saying it doesn't exist.........but......🦄
