It was a nice day for a drive yesterday so took a drive about an hour south. Targeted three decent sized towns and one small one. Not very productive, but found one 885UH in a Blue Striped Box. It was the last of two USA Schrades, and had resorted to living in a Buck display case so the Senior Stockman was rescued. There was also a 147OT fillet knife with a green handle, but it wasn't a good deal.
In a deserted small town store had high hopes when a Schrade display case was spotted. Unfortunately is was fully stocked with Taylors :barf:.
Another True Value store produced a Schrade case that was stocked with Frost and Bear knives. :grumpy:
Found a cool a saddlery shop that had been in business since 1881, with the 3rd generation owner. He said I was about 30 years late since he stocked pocket knives. Nice folks though, and a great place to get leather stuff, boot repair, and cleaning supplies. Didn't need a huge belt buckle or a bolo tie with a genuine scorpion.
Still a fun thing to do. Found a nice little Mexican restaurant and got some good soft chicken tacos.
