Harley Balis

Over T-Day I walked in a knife shop I know and found out he was going out of business. While there I picked up a spydie Mil and a benchmade mode 30 cheap. Anyway the mod 30 is marked Harley Davison. Any history on these. I have personally seen several 45(s) (even had one or two) marked like this but this is the only 3 incher I have seen so marked. Chuck? anyone?

When BM discontinued the Bali-Song line, they sold a bunch of seconds to a dealer. They were all marked 2nd. BM had a fairly substantial number of these to sell since the machine that set the pins in the old design was failing and spoiled a lot of knives, one of the factors that led to the end of that line. Anyway, that dealer sold a bunch of them to a second dealer who removed the 2nd designations and had a third shop screen print the HD logo on them. This was done without the permission of either BM or HD and I know that neither company is particularly happy about it.

Persons involved have variously given me estimates of 100-200 pieces.
