What r your thoughts on this knife. Has anyone used one camping or fishing. I had Chuddy Bear set me up with this sweet sheath which holds the knife and a Streamlight. Havent used the knife yet. I think Im just used to a heavier folder as I edc a Manix. Dont know if its a keeper but I really love the overall look. Hope u enjoy the pics.

Who makes that knife for Harley? Any idea about blade steel type?

That is a nice looking set up.

I'm not a Benchmade fan due to their lousy customer service, but the knife should be fine.

LOL,LOUSY HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA

I'm with Doc Canada on this. I was a Benchmade collector for many years- no longer. This is a tired argument, however, that does not belong in this particular subforum.

As for the Harley Hardtail folder, I really like the looks of that knife. It is basically a modernized Buck 110, with an Axis lock. It should be well made. There are a few things about it that have kept me from purchasing one.

1) D2 steel. Don't like it. Benchmade's D2 in particular.
2) Harley Davidson branding. :barf: Tasteful as this example may be.
2) It's made by Benchmade.

If those three things don't bother you, then it should be an excellent knife.

Chuddy Bear makes some mean leather- I have a few of his sheaths, and they're all top-notch.

If only Buck would/could get a license for the axis lock from Benchmade...

I'm not a fan of the Harley styling, but I've got to admit that I've thought a lot about picking one up:thumbup: Especially with the kind of edges that have come on my last couple of Benchmades, I can't believe that it wouldn't perform admirably!

I haven't dealt with Benchmade customer service in a long time but it looks like a sturdy knife and the axis lock is certainly first rate. Nice sheath!

That design with an axis lock is a great idea. I like the looks of it, besides the Harley branding, but it looks like a solid blade, and a design that has been proven in the woods.

not bad, not bad at all.

And you know, send it off to Tom Krein for a taller regrind, add $30 worth of Carbon Fiber or Stabilized wood and a couple hours worth of work, and it wouldn't say Harley anywhere:D

I WOULD like it if the handle didn't have a sharp corner at the butt. It really digs into the palm of your hand when you use an elongated grip. And the lanyard hole is just a little too close to said sharp corner for you to grind it down without throwing the appearance all out of whack. That and it's pricey.

I'm still a Benchmade fan...but I'm not as enthusiastic as I used to be. :(

That one caught my eye when I first saw it too. That lock should be awesome in the bolsters like that...not that it had an issue before.
