I recently purchased this sub-hilt bowie which was made by Harold Corby in 2001. It's stunning to see and wonderfully comfortable in the hand despite its size. It is still, fortunately, in mint condition. I've had the walnut display case which was made for it re-finished to remove some scratches.

This Bowie has a mirror polished blade, sharpened top clip and
fileworked spine, Subhilt handle with fittings of engraved
nickel silver and handle of ancient Mammoth ivory.
Blade size:10 3/4", 1/4" thick and 1 3/4". Overall:17"
Weight:35.4 oz
Handle:Mammoth Ivory
Spacer:Red
Bolsters:Engraved Nickel Silver
Butt cap:Engraved Nickel Silver
Presentation case with brass placard.

Yes, I have always appreciated the fine work that Harold Corby did. There are often knives he made that become available and when I saw this one, I just couldn't resist...even though I didn't want to part with $1500.00 at the time.
This "presentation" bowie was made for a Mr Phillip Chambers who sold it and fortunately I was able to snatch it up. :>))
