Actually there is one milled into the lock bar. The clip is not needed for a over travel stop.

Oh I see it now. Nice touch.

May I ask why is the framelock's lockbar cut out in this manner (a little bit of the titanium is left out)?

It was an idea that seemed better in cad than it did once the frame was cut. None of the future knives will have it on them. They will all be a straight cut.
