Hello,
Can anyone help me with some back round information about Harry Mendenhall. It is my understanding that he is deceased. I'm looking for any history about his knifemaking and magazine articles.

Hey Jeff,

Give Jay Harris a call. He'll have some information and possibly other people to talk to. I believe he did the engraving on Jay's folders.

I sat next to Harry at the San Jose knife show in 1993. He's the one that got me started making folding knives. I would talk to him every month at the BAKCA meetings. He was a heck of a nice guy.

Paul,

Thanks for the lead, Jay was at the BAKCA meeting and he will be able to help with the information for the article. Also at the meeting was a gentleman, by the name of Cash Best. He had the prototype club knife of Harry Mendenhall. Wow what luck, the right place at the right time. And I am going to speak with him also for his thoughts.

Glad to hear. Yeah, what luck. I haven't seen Cash in years. Funny he should be at the meeting. You may want to talk to Dana Hermes and Al Eaton. They were attending meetings back then also and probably know Harry. I know there are others but can't think of their names at the moment.

I think one of Harry's knives was on the flyer for a BAKCA show, but I don't know th year.
