I am a new member here Thanks to Charlie(aka upnorth) on all about pocket knives--He said I could share my love for old and rare pocket knives with everyone on this forum as well as aapk. Happy Hollidays everyone. Here I have an old hart cutlery knife with some great etching. Measures 3 3/4 closed, all blades with half-stop and all are marked. Has anyone ever seen another like this one?? Are Hart knives rare?? This knife sure has lots of quality, fit and finish. Are books tell us some were made by camillus. I don't think this knife was. Anyone recognized that signature bone?? I had an American Shear & knife with this type bone, that is the only other knife I have ever seen with bone like this, but I need many knife peoples opinion that are much more knowledge than I to REVIEW THIS KNIFE. Thanks in advance for everyones help, I really appreciate it. Thanks Mark aka Ratlesnake75

Fran, you are supposed to warn Mark AFTER I get all his knives!!

:D:D:D

Mark:

Maybe your other friends here are emailing you the photo hosting instructions.

Basically, if you want to reference a JPG file that is sitting on a hosted website (like your Geocities site), the photographs must have public access, and be wrapped with image codes. Image codes are wrapped inside the brackets to the right of the "P" key on your keyboard [ ]. A sample code string is shown below, and somewhat looks like that.

(IMG)http://www.images_go_here.com/photos/sample.jpg(/IMG)

In my example above, I have substituted the ( ) for the [ ] just for explanatory purposes. I use Photobucket to host my photos and it provides the codes for me. I use the same technique on AAPK as I do here, so there are multiple methods to get the same thing done.

I hope this helps. Anxious to see your pics. And welcome to the forum.

I can't see the pictures. Direct links are returning a 503 error. Feel free to email me the pictures and I'll host and post the pictures for you.

At first glance, I think of Challenge, maybe it was made by them. I can't put my finger on any single construction detail that makes me think that (although I have a Challenge cattle knife that is very similar, but with different style bone), but it just feels like a Challenge. At any rate, it sure is a nice one.

Thats a great lookin' knife, only lightly used, and with great swedges.

I dont have the knowledge or the resources to tell you if this knife is rare or or who made it, but you posted it in BRL's forum as well, they should be able to answer that for you.

A folksy welcome from me too.

Peter
