I don't have time to type much right now, but I'd like to say it was a pleasure to meet Phill Hartsfield and his son, Phill, at the show. I think it's great to keep a business within the family and they were the two most gracious makers that I ran across.

Plus, I think you got a great knife(when you traded him back the first knife).

;)

Good to see ya again, Pete. :)

I've been out for a few days and didn't see your post. Real good to see you again, too. For those interested, I picked up a kwaiken from Phill. Good, classic Hartsfield, sharp as all hell, it'll be a great cutting machine, lifetime unconditional warranty and service, very high "cool factor".

I too had a chance to talk to phil and hold his knives, I never really liked them until i held them, there was a bolo style knife he had that is burned into my mind and hand wow, but i little to high end for me right now
Phil was a great guy to boot

he also had some great catalogs-FREE! i agree with Willrise...the piece i fell inlove with was the simplicity of his Malaysian golok. it was perfectly balanced, but not perfectly priced form my piss-poor pocket. :(
