This is the first publicly announced GAW I've done, but it's time for me to repay the kindness I have received from this community.
Up for grabs is a Hartshead Barlow which was an SFO commissioned by
Jack Black
a few years ago. Quite possibly the best lambsfoot knife ever made IMHO. It has never been used, just been sitting in a plastic bag inside the handmade tweed slip that it arrived with.
For anyone who doesn't already know, this is a very special knife and will not be made ever again. Please do not try to contact Wright's or anyone else to get one.
I actually regard this knife as even more special than the annual forum knife and feel that it is an ambassador to our community here. I can't think of a better knife for my first true GAW.
*Edit #2: I feel the need to ensure that credit is given where it is due. This knife was entirely designed by
Jack Black
, the bolsters, heat treat and etch we're all carried out by other firms, per his specifications. There was a lot of work and headache on his part for this knife to come to fruition. Thank you, Jack, for your efforts!
The fine print:
All you have to do is post 'I'm in'. Including a photo of your favorite knife would be nice, but not necessary.
This will be restricted to folks with a paid membership, any tier is fine. If you don't currently have a paid membership, feel free to get one before posting you're in!
You must have at least 20 posts in the traditional forum, prior to this post.
The last requirement is more of a request, keeping in line with the forum knife tradition. If you win, pretty please, do not post it up at auction or sell it for an inflated price.
I will pick the winner at random on Saturday, 4/23.
