Made a sheath for my new karda (correct me if thats the wrong name for the knife) YCS. My favorite blade so far! i like the sheaths from HI, but this one was different than usual. As I do not much care for the button, I made a loos fitting European style holster for it that keeps it snug while allowing to slip out if pulled correctly. I might work on it a bit more, painting and sewing it better. Really hoping to make a deal with Auntie for the YCS 10-10 special! They'll all go really well together, Gott knows the awl will be useful for the thick leather. Leastways, excellent knife. the usual expectations then some; sharp as a razor, clean, and strong as the gates of hades.

I particularly like YCS because of its world ethnic origins. Ive been known to listen to drum circle music and have learned a little bit of Salish.
Bitterroot/Kalispell dialect of Salish Amerindians local to where I use to live. It'll make me feel like a real yamabushi.
Im rambling now. Overall, Made a quick sheath that I'm going make some kind of attachment to fasten it on me.
Yet the main point - the knife, its killer!

Thanks BB! Going to get the entire YCS soon with the deal I got from auntie! I can post some pics once I get it. I hear you have one too! You have quite the collection in general, let me know if you need to get rid of a sword! :)

Nice simple leather slip like that should be a comfortable way to carry that blade. YCS Kardas are large enough to be exceptionally useful little blades themselves :)

Those are some dandy looking plums. Picked at the perfect time it appears.

My great grandfather lived next door when I was a younker. Had a couple huge plum trees. I probably ate a couple million plums during that time.

Most of 'em were on the ground already fermenting! The few I managed to gather are very tasty. I made some excellent fruit leather with them, tangy and sweet. The rest I made into juice to add to the elderberry juice thats in the bottle in the image. Same story with the elderberries, not many one the trees. It seems as I was a bit late this year. Its not unusual to get a couple grocery bags full, but I did not even fill one. Apples are good, I prefer them dehydrated. There is a mountain ash and pear trees too, I might ask the neighbors to take some.

There is a Greek proverb that I can not find in ancient script, probably because everyone said it while the writers like plato did not bother to write something so simple. It is as follows -

Sumer, Harvest, War.

Sumer, Harvest, War.

Lol, in many areas the Harvest Season was the only time there wasn't war. Making sure that there was food for the winter took all the energy of everyone, but as soon as that was taken care of, back the the "Entertainment"

The YCS Karda looks like a perfect little utility knife. I can't believe the razor edge I put on the tiny little Karda I have and I've been daydreaming about changing in my fancy USA auto folder for some Nepali steel!

And entertainment it is haha. Among other things of course! It's interesting to think about under this harvest moon

I started out with a buck knife folder for back country trail work. But it became evident a fix blade is better. Next time I get a US knife it will be a leather men with wire cutters. Other than that HI has me set!
Some folks 'round here make HI folders, be sure to Post if you assemble one!

You seen Ndogs IBBB folder?! Totally awesome!

Costs a good amount of coin to get a folder you can 'trust'.

The rugged dependability of a fixed blade HI pry-bar is fantastic.

If I could turn back time I'd skip the folder and go for a M43 (and a JKM1? or YCS/Kumar Karda or IBBB etc)

I do like folders but I have in the last few years gotten partial to fixed blades myself. This was an attempt to alter my thinking but not sure if I succeeded? Ill keep trying. When I finish the 20" Siru Folder ill let you know:D

I agree with Cul. I could look at pics of that folder forever. Just don't forget that you promised me first crack at it when you get tired of having it around ;)
