I just wanted to get this thread started. Over the next few days I am going to be posting some photos of a knife that Harvey dean is making for me. It isn't completed yet, but it's getting there.

In the first photo Harvey is finishing up his morning coffee as a bar of 1084 heats up in the forge.

The next photo is out of focus, but it shows Harvey starting to forge with his 50-pound Little Giant trip hammer.

More to come tomorrow.

Harvey's Huckleberry is a classic design - I know I will enjoy seeing this one unfold.

Keep them coming Keith! I'm "chomping at the bit" and it's not even my knife, I'm sure you must be very excited about seeing this one come together.

I'm very excited. I consider Harvey to be one of the elite knifemakers and I am going to be very proud to own one of his knives.

Flattening tang and ricasso before name stamping. The ricasso is sanded to 320-grit before stamping.

Huckleberry ground and ready for name stamping. At this point Harvey drills larger holes in the tang to lighten knife and also serve as epoxy bond.

Huckleberry is ready for name stamping. Harvey uses the tape to help him line the stamp up.

Name stamping is done with special arbor press made by Al Laurence of Riverside Machine. MS is put on in the same manner.
