Here is a Saddlehorn trapper by Harvey Dean MS, the spring and blade are 1084 and the pins and bolster are 416ss ..that would be Stag scales.

Riad, Nice Knife. Harvey is a master. Are the pictures of the same knife? I noticed the bolster is Ratailed on the mark side and isn't on the pile. Perhaps pix was taken at a different time?
 
Really nice knife, but the answer to the question on one fluted bolster and one not is killing me, also the shot from the back does not show the flute. Since it is must be a defect, send it to me.:D I will take good care of it.;)

I think the flute does show from the top, faintly. Anxious to hear, too. But, would be more anxious to handle that one. Very, very NICE, Riad! You have a way of locating the cool.

I would take it with or without the flute. The top DOES show it, my eyes as well as my body is old. Great Score! Now send that sucker down south.:)
 
Sorry Guys I should mention that Harvey sent 2 of those pictures before he fluted the bolster those were the only shots of the other side and file work
Harvey Offered to send her without the fluting in case I wanted it engraved
we both wanted her fluted
arrives tomorrow

Just a word or two for you RAN, Dammmmmmmmmmnnnnnnnn Youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu. Mighty nice knife, you can still send it South. I'll take it even with the flutes.

Thanks Riad, Not to be-labor the point but in the second pix of the file work the mark side bolster wasn't rat-tailed correct?
It is a beautiful knife congratulations. Now for one of Harvey's Bowies to match..
 
Beautiful knife, I really like the shape of the blade. The file-work is outstanding just like the stag.
An honest damn you Riad on this great lookin saddelhorn trapper ;)

The Photos were taken before and after she is pinched and fluted both sides
