A wharncliffe slip joint with a punch blade? These are two of my most used 'blades' on a slip joint, and although I have converted two broken clip blades for the purpose, I was wondering if this is a combination yet to be put together. I would like a third blade as a Spey, but I'm sure that is too much to ask, although the recurve clip blade does work well for a full belly blade.

I have not seen one, but that does not mean a whole lot. Really nice job you did though. I like it.

As I recall a lot of the old "scout" type knives had them and, I believe, a number of SAKs.

I've collected Harness Jacks, and Scout and Cattle knives for many years. On older knives (pre-WWII) I have never seen a Wharncliffe on any of them. Only Pen knives and Whittlers actually seem to have them. Of course, more modern knives have them.

Thank you for the replies so far. Waynorth, I will have to try and find some of these more modern examples, hopefully some make their way to this side of the country and into my hands! I guess I should have specified more that I was looking for a wharncliffe master blade too.

Bastid- thank you for the compliment. I find that clip blades with broken tips work well for this modification, and allows me to take a broken $5 knife and turn it into a useful $5 knife. It also has let me work with adding swedges before trying them on my custom knives for others, and I am glad for the learning curve being taken out on these rather than Damascus or other steel!! I can't bring myself to modify an unbroken blade, so keep hoping I can find more broken clip bladed punch knives to get what I want until I try my hands at slipjoints (probably a long time away if my fixed blade endeavours are any indication). I have odd tastes so it is probably up to me to piece together my dream slip joints.

Dude, that was Gus, not Elliott, who complemented you.

Case has a medium stockman in CV with a sheepsfoot and a punch. Third blade is a clip, though.

And that is why I shouldn't post with screaming kids around!!! My bad, sorry Gus!
I will have to look out for that model, not a wharncliffe, but might be close enough. Thanks Frank, no screaming kids means I'm able to get your name right this time. Now off to bed before I mess more up!!

I think Frank is referring to the Case 6318PU

Here is a old picture of the one I have, very handy and useful knife, rides very nice in the pocket also.

Both blades are CV, the punch is SS
